How cellphones disrupt your brain.
An interesting study from the University of San Diego has shown that someone chatting on a mobile phone is more cognitively disrupting than having two people next by, chatting out loud.
The explanation is that when you hear someone on a cellphone, your brain tries (inadvertently) to fill in the blanks and to find a context to the conversation.
All this shows once again that when you want to be really focused on a task, you need to avoid having someone next to you talking on their phone!
