ADHD treatment ‘may reduce risk of criminal behaviour’.

I am not a big fan of all the ADHD treatments that are so easily administered to children nowadays. It seems that if you show any sign of attention-deficit, you may directly be diagnosed with ADHD and immediately prescribed with a treatment.

Everybody has a certain capacity of attention which varies depending on the environment and other external factors. We should be more careful with rushing to judgment.

Another interesting reason for a better diagnosis is that some studies have suggested that people with ADHD are more likely to commit offences than the general population.

By better treating the serious cases and not diffusing efforts on the “fake” ones, we might reduce harms for all those concerned.
